  ABOUT US AND HOW WE GOT STARTED!!

The Puppy Business started with a simple one time event...Back in 1989 Anita, the owner of the Pet Cottage had a small grooming shop in her home.  I groomed customers dogs regularly, making many friends with the owners.  As dogs would age and pass, the first place they would come to was me, seeking a new pet.  With contacts in the breeding industry from past breeding in Pennsylvania, there was never a problem finding a sweet new puppy for a sad customer. 

I would travel to Altoona PA, my hometown and bring the pups back to their new loving owners.  The joy and excitement that these pups would bring their new owners was heart warming.  One thing lead to another and before I knew it, I had many calls every week looking for sweet healthy puppies..and that was what I provided..this is what started me in the puppy business...A few old friends from PA actually relocated to Kansas area, where they expanded their breeding business.  Visiting these friends over the years allowed me to meet other wonderful breeders in the area of the Mid West and work a small network that has become the Pet Cottage Puppy Network.

We have a private website that allows all my breeders to show me what puppies they have available for sale each week.  I personally pick and chose which puppies I want for my special customers. I can also forward pictures of special puppies that people are looking for..and with my past reputation..most of these puppies are presold before they arrive...

I have visited these breeders and have seen their kennels, they are not large commercial kennels, they do not own 100plus different dogs..these ladies have small kennels with several favorite breeds they love. We decided that we, as breeders have a responsibility to keep informed of up to date health issues, shot requirements and animal reproduction, so each year we hold a workshop where we invite a Veternarian to come and speak to us regarding these new matters.

We have hired a private delivery person to transport our puppies directily to the Pet Cottage and three other special Pet Stores in New Jersey and New York area for the health and safety of our puppies.

The breeders are all licensed according to their State Laws. We know exactly where each of our pups are coming from and we deal directly with the breeders..there are no brokers, no Amish,

NO PUPPY MILLS!
